What does VIVIC mean?

VIVIC is derived from the word vivification, meaning “to bring life to.” At VIVIC, our goal is to bring life to the coffee industry by creating innovative products that expand the horizons of ready-to-drink beverages.

Imagine a cold brew with the refreshing qualities of a sparkling water…that’s VIVIC! Our carbonated coffee wakes you up to life’s possibilities!

We source all our coffee directly from our partners in the Sierra de Apaneca Ilamatepec region of El Salvador. We chose this varietal due to its versatile flavor profile. It pairs easily with fruity, floral, earthy, and chocolatey notes.

Direct trade means we have a personal relationship with the farmers who grow the coffee. We work directly with the Mena family, owners of Villa España. This allows us to cut out the middleman, pay a higher price directly to our partners, and set quality standards for the coffee.

We view direct trade as the best option for VIVIC and for the farmers we work with. However, we also recognize the value of fair trade certification when direct trade isn’t feasible. Both direct trade and fair trade pay more and ensure higher quality standards than commodity coffee, and we’re in favor of anything that moves coffee towards sustainable prices and practices.

In terms of organic, it’s something that we think about and revisit regularly. Though our current partner uses mindful and sustainable growing practices whenever possible, they are not certified organic and don’t have the resources to go through the extensive process. As we grow, we intend to help our partners obtain organic certification as well as get certification for all VIVIC products.

VIVIC is brewed using a proprietary process that utilizes hot water to ensure complete extraction of the beans. We tested a variety of brew methods and found that this way provides the best flavor profile for our line of products. It also ensures there is less waste in the brewing process, due to the high extraction percentage.

Sarsaparilla is an adaptogenic root that has been used for many years in herbal tonics. It’s the main flavor you taste in typical root beer. We source our sarsaparilla from India, as we’ve found its flavor profile complements our coffee beans. Never heard of a root beer coffee? Neither had we, until we created it! But trust us, it’s refreshing and delightful: a world of flavor, with a nostalgic twist.

The history of licorice root is much richer than the chewy strings of candy you may (OR MAY NOT) have enjoyed as a child. Licorice root has been used for thousands of years as an herbal tonic, as well as a natural sweetener. While it is almost 150 times sweeter than sucrose (cane sugar), licorice root won’t raise your blood sugar. This allows us to add just 8 grams of sugar to our products to enhance each recipe’s distinct flavor. We see the use of licorice root as part of the magic of VIVIC: we’re bringing new life to a time-honored ingredient.

Each can has about 110 mg of caffeine, which is equal to about one 10-oz cup of coffee or 1.5 shots of espresso.

Cans do not need to be refrigerated, but the product tastes best chilled. Shelf life at production is 12 months; we produce new batches regularly, so check the can for expiration date.
